Sunday, March 30, 2008 Back from Shanghai for almost 6 days.. and it certain does felt longer than it has been. All i could say is that beyond the company and great karaoke system they have there, i am not a big fan of Shanghai. Well that totally answers my question of whether i wld work in China. It would be a big fat no. Oh well, that is unless You call me there, which i hope not....Shanghai's karaoke is really out of this world! When you enter the place, you would feel as though you have entered into a casino... the poshness of the place is nothing like the LC ones you see in Singapore. As it was dinner there, the package included a buffet dinner which served reasonably good food. Also, some of the karaoke rooms had dedicated toilets right outside their rooms. Now for the karaoke system itself. Whao, we were blown away by the high tech-ness and clarity of the sound system. With various EQs to choose from, it could range from concert like to unplugged versions. It also picked up every vocal key clearly and accurately. When we got bk to the local karaokes here, we were really missing that experience in Shanghai. We managed to slot in a bit of massage time when we reached there the first day. All tired out from the night flight, not much shopping was accomplished. Generally as what i hv been warned, the food in Shanghai was on the oily and salty side. Shopping was limited to international brands as the other clothes were either too "localised" or tai tai style (ie dresses, flowy materials). It was double visitations to Uniqlo and H&M that satisfied our shopping desires. And yes, i managed to find the dodgy shoe shop that DN recommended! Indeed there were hardly any shoe displays, and we had to queue for our turn. The shop was run down and small, fitting not more than 10 ppl at a go. A couple of sales gals servicing the customers. They would first ask wha kind of shoes one would prefer and they would go away to their store next door to pick up some selection. They would then return with about 10 pairs for one to try. We would then give our feedback on the shoes that she had brought. This process was repeated about 5 times. Ade and I each got 5 and 4 pairs of shoes respectively. Finally satisfied as we had taken a long time to locate the shop. It certainly had not gone to waste. Piccies are on facebook, some on my photo albums, some russ's. So just click "tagged photos" if some of the piccies are missing from my album and you would find them. Now back in the rat race once again... not exactly knowing which way to take. I can only say, i surrender to You.
Tuesday, March 18, 2008 Jealous - I wan to swim with dolphins too!!! :(*Mental note: Try to go Melbourne on a sunny period* Off to Shanghai tonight, yes yes a well deserved break from all the recent pitches and wins. Woot!
Wednesday, March 12, 2008 Lesson of the day:Politics and negotiation strategy is like a game of showhand. Careful planning and knowing when to call a bluff is important.
Monday, March 10, 2008 Record number of dramas that i am watching concurrently - 41)恶作剧2吻 [主演:郑元畅、汪东城、林依晨] 2) 这里发现爱/在这里等你 [主演:周渝民、朱孝天、王传一] 3) 爸爸閉翳 4) 賭場風雲 The silly thing is that both the TVB are by 欧阳震华, so i tend to mix the story line up :P Both the Taiwan dramas are on a weekly basis, as they are still broadcasting it over there. Somehow waiting for it on a weekly basis is not as shiok as watching it all at a shot.
